Policies & Projects
This section provides relevant information on policy and project initiatives that are linked to the theme of migration and development. The initiatives are classified into five broad categories:
- Policy coherence: provides information on both national governments’ and inter-governmental organizations’ efforts to formulate cohesive and integrated policy approaches in the field of migration and development in an attempt to enhance the development potential of migration.
- Consultation and cooperation: provides information on consultation processes undertaken at regional and global level in an attempt to move towards concerted action-oriented policies in the field of migration and development.
- Transfer of skills: provides information on programmes that mostly target qualified Diaspora community members from all over the world who wish to contribute to the sustainable development of their country of origin through knowledge sharing and training in sectors crucial for development, i.e. education, health, etc.
- Remittances and business opportunities: provides information on remittances service providers and financial instruments/facilities aiming at creating sound investment climates in migrant-sending countries.
